Title I Reading

Currently, at the Fannett-Metal Elementary, there are two Title I Reading Specialists and one Title I Math Specialist. During the afternoon in intervention/enrichment (i/e), the Title I staff pulls students who met the Title I requirements in small groups based on their assessments. The students who do not qualify for Title I Reading or Math, stay in the classroom with their teacher and work on enrichment activities that the classroom teacher plans for them.

Sometimes we see students every day depending on the number of Title I students in that grade level or whether or not they also receive other services. This year i/e is 20 minutes for grades K-2.  As a Reading Specialist, I work on a variety of skills which may include alphabet recognition, phonics/sounds, fluency, vocabulary, or comprehension.

In grades 3-5, all the students are working on PSSA Math and ELA review and practice questions during i/e.
