Title I Reading & Math
Currently, at the Fannett-Metal Elementary, there is one Title I Reading Specialists and one Title I Math Specialist. During the afternoon in intervention/enrichment (i/e), the Title I staff pulls students who met the Title I requirements in small groups based on their assessments. The students who do not qualify for Title I Reading or Math, stay in the classroom with their teacher and work on enrichment activities that the classroom teacher plans for them.
Sometimes Title I teachers see students every day depending on the number of Title I students in that grade level or whether or not they also receive other services. This year i/e is 20 minutes for grades K-2. The Reading Specialist works on a variety of skills which may include alphabet recognition, phonics/sounds, fluency, vocabulary, or comprehension. The Title I Math teacher workds on a variety of skills based on what they are doing in math in their classrooms.
In grades 3-5, all the students are working on PSSA Math and ELA review and practice questions during i/e.
