Elementary

The Elementary School Counselor, Mrs. Coral McMath, serves students grades K-5.

The mission of the Fannett-Metal School Counseling Program is to provide comprehensive services to all students, to address social-emotional, academic, and career goals.

Services at the elementary level include small-group counseling, individual counseling, classroom guidance, consultation and referral, and assessment coordination. Small group services provide additional, peer-led learning experiences. Small group topics vary and are based upon need. Individual counseling services are offered on a short-term basis for a variety of needs (stress, family changes, emotion regulation, etc.) Classroom guidance is provided as a special in the 6-day cycle. Lessons are research-based, meeting both station and national standards, to address preventative and developmental topics, such as career, conflict resolution, etc. Consultation and referral is a critical part in advocating for student success. This can include formal plans (504), outside referrals, and community resources. Assessment coordination includes PSSA testing for grades 3-5.

If you would like to know more about elementary school counseling services or if you have a concern about your child please call (717-349-2513 Ext. 3006) or email (mcmathc@fmtigers.org).
