Who We Are

The Fannett-Metal Education Foundation is a non-profit, tax exempt, public charity established in 2003 that was organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, more specifically to enhance the quality of education, increase community involvement, and support the Fannett-Metal public schools. The Fannett-Metal Foundation operates independently of all Fannett-Metal tax revenue.

Membership

Membership of the Fannett-Metal Education Foundation consists only of the members of the board of directors that serve three or four year terms. All members of the board of directors serve voluntarily and without compensation.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Fannett-Metal Education Foundation is to enhance the quality of education, increase community involvement and support the Fannett-Metal public schools.

History

In 2003, former Fannett-Metal School District Superintendent Dr. Dana Baker formed a steering committee which the board of directors evolved with the first board being seated in 2004. Since its origin, the Foundation has funded over $300,000 to the Fannett-Metal School District for technology equipment, teacher grants, athletic equipment, and other programs to help enhance the quality of education for its students. Money for all funding is obtained through donations, memorial contributions and fund raising held by the Foundations board of directors. In 2010, the Foundation purchased a property located at 14901 Path Valley Road in Willow Hill, PA to provide an office for business operations and to use as a facility to hold fundraising events so that the Foundation can continue to provide financial support to the school districts.
