Computer Applications

Welcome incoming freshman to Computer Applications.  In this course you will be using  the Microsoft Office Suite.  My goal is to provide students with real-world activities that will emphasis the power of computer literacy.  This course will acquaint students with the proper procedures to create documents, presentations, worksheets, and databases that are suitable for business or personal use.

Business/Accounting

In this course the goal is to provide a foundation for understanding how our economic system operates and how we operate in the global economy.  Current news articles will be used as resources.  We will examine economic indicators, fiscal policy, and monetary policy.

The Accounting portion of the class will focus on keeping financial records for a service business that is operated as a sole proprietorship.  The course is based on the steps of the Accounting Cycle.

Career Education and Work (CEW)

This course was designed to assist students with exploring careers and developing skills necessary to make meaningful decisions about their career choice. Students will be made aware that there are many factors to consider before selecting a suitable career. This course will assist the students in assessing their personal strengths and weaknesses as they relate to career decisions. This course will aid the student in developing strategies to make an effective transition from school to work. Students will properly prepare career documents needed to obtain employment. The student will be able to recognize that career enhancements and career changes are common and that they need to be adaptable to the fluctuating job market. This course will provide resources that will enable students to make informed decisions about their career choice throughout their lifetime.
