This is an acrylic painting that I did of my 3yr old daughter, who dreams of being a ballerina one day.

An acrylic painting that I did of my then 3yr old daughter, who dreams of being a ballerina one day.

I have been the art teacher for Fannett-Metal School District since 2010.  I teach all students from Pre-K through 12th grade.  I am from the Gettysburg area and still live there with my husband and daughter.  I have of course always loved the visual arts, but I also love dancing and horseback riding as well.

I strive to give my students a broad overview of what they can do in the arts.  We experiment with mediums such as pencil and paper, paint, clay, textiles, digital, and more.  Beyond the making of art, I emphasize learning about artists, their work, other cultures and critiquing students’ work and the work of others.  Communication is a valuable tool and we work on oral and written expression along with artistic expression.

I look forward to this being another terrific year at FM!!!
