Comic Strips

During the up and coming short week of school, January 3-January 5, students will have the opportunity to create and write their own comic strips.  Students will be required to include 3 vocabulary words from week 17 vocabulary words and 2 examples of figurative language in their comic strips.  We will use the website readwritethink.org to create and print the comic strips.  After the students have completed their comic strips, they will then create a graphic organizer to show the purpose for their comic strip and write a paragraph about their purpose for the comic strip.  Strategies that are being studied with this learning activity are vocabulary, figurative language, author’s purpose, and the writing process.  The students and myself are excited for this activity!
