In First Grade, we have been busy exploring and learning about birds and plants!

🐦 Bird Beaks: We explored which type of bird beak would be best for picking up seeds that are hiding between rocks. We discovered that pointed beaks were better at picking up seeds between rocks than flat beaks! Students had so much fun testing the different β€œbeaks” and making observations.

🌱 Plants: We have also been learning how seedlings are similar to their adult plants. Students looked closely at different attributes, such as the shape and appearance of the leaves and stems, and used their observations to match each seedling to its adult plant.

We are loving being scientists and using our observations, evidence, and discoveries to learn more about the world around us! πŸ”ŽπŸ’š
