Welcome to 7th and 8th grade Language Arts!
Important items to be aware of:
Vocabulary schedule: Day 3– HOMEWORK-vocab worksheet, Day 5– review game, Day 6– quiz day/ get new list
*If you click on the link to the left, it will take you to the current vocabulary list for each grade.
**The vocabulary worksheet is the only homework- outside of studying- that I assign. Students get about 15 minutes of class time to begin this. Whatever they do not finish is homework and due the next school day.
DLR– Daily Language Review- Every day during the first few minutes in class, students receive five English/Language Arts- type questions to work on independently. After completion, the class reviews the answers and students correct their mistakes. Thursday, in class, students turn the week’s worth of corrected DLR questions in for a grade. These count for five points per day/ one point each question. On Fridays there is a review worth five points. These questions are taken from all of the questions from that week. Since the answers were already reviewed, this should be an easy five points.
