Making Data Fun!Mar
Miss Miley’s first and second grade Title I Math students ended their chapter on data by making a tally chart, a pictograph, and a bar graph. Each student received a pack of Skittles which they used for the data for their tally chart and graphs. After completing the tally chart, the students made a picture graph in which the symbol could not be equal to one. The next step was to take the data and make a bar graph. Once all three data instruments were completed, the students had to write two questions that could be answered by other students who looked at their data. All completed projects were displayed in the hallway and the students enjoyed eating their “Skittles” for a job well done.
