Kindergarteners Study Life Cycle of Birds and Their Homes

During science, the kindergarteners studied the life cycle of birds and their homes. Students focused on different kinds of nests and even made 2 of their own nests using craft supplies and their own handprints. Then, students wrote informational writing pieces about their favorite facts about nests. In conjunction with math, they also made a chick glyph (a craft designed to artistically show a person’s answers to questions about oneself). Students hung their glyphs in the hallway to share information about themselves and to communicate those facts through the design of the chick.
