Fifth Grade’s Environments Study

In the fifth grade “Environments” study, we planted five types of seeds in a terrarium, barley, corn, peas, clover, and radishes.  We did four observations over the next two weeks, recording the dates of germination, the number of plants that sprouted, the size of each plant, the number of leaves produced.  On each observation, they could change things in their terrarium, (add water, remove plastic wrap, remove the lid, etc.)  Students had to draw conclusions about the success/failure of their plants.
