Mrs. Dorand’s 6th and 7th grade students are learning how to play the acoustic guitar in music class.  The students are learning about correct finger placement, how to tune a guitar, and taking musical notes from paper and applying them to the strings!! Some future musicians can be found in these classes!!

Spaghetti & Marshmallow Challenge – Career and Social Skills

In Mrs. Strayer’s Career and Social Skills class, the 8th grade students used all 10 of their elements of teamwork to see who can build the tallest structure out of spaghetti and marshmallows.  The students learned to identify strengths and weaknesses regarding teamwork. I think we have some students futures planned out as architects!!

Middle School Songfest

Mrs. Dorand was proud to escort three middle school students to Manheim Central School District so they could participate in the 2017 Songfest.   Lillian Holthaus, Allyssa Dunker, and Emma Wood represented Fannett-Metal Middle School on Saturday, November 18th at Songfest.  Congratulations! Way to make us proud!!
