“Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow,” – Anthony J. D’Angelo
I am excited to be in my 9th year of teaching. This is my first year at the Fannett-Metal School District. I hope to use my experience to foster a love of learning in the students at Fannett-Metal so that they can carry that learning beyond the classroom.
I graduated from Shippensburg University, Kaplan University, and Wilson College. I have two bachelor’s degrees in psychology and nutrition science. I also have two master’s degrees in administration of criminal justice and special education. I completed my initial certification to teach through the Wilson College Teacher Intern Program with a concentration in Middle-Level English grades 4-8. I have since completed my certification to teach English 9-12 and Special Education Pre-K-12. Since starting at Fannett-Metal, I have completed my certifications for Family and Consumer Sciences and Library Media Specialist. I also recently completed my Autism Endorsement for my Special Education Certification in December.
In my spare time I perform at the Star Theatre in Mercersburg. Music and theater are great passions of mine having performed nationally and internationally since 1991 and directed musicals for 20 years. Two of my greatest adventures was performing at Euro Disney in France with the Shippensburg University Cumberlaires and in Vienna, Austria with Educational Opportunity Tours and touring the history of The Von Trapp family known from the musical “The Sound of Music.”
My husband and I live in McConnellsburg, PA and spend most weekends over the summer at our camper at the Wapocoma Campground in Romney, WV. It is our home away from home. We enjoy spending time together and recharge for the next week.
I look forward to continuing getting to know my students and families at Fannett-Metal. Please reach out if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
